27/10/07 - Nets and Corner Flags

Storage of Nets & Corner Flags in Mourne View Community Hall

Skerries town FC has come to an arrangement with Mourne View Community Hall for the storage of nets and corner flags for the 2 pitches at Mourne View. The pitches are designated MV1 (top end pitch -nearest to Kelly’s Bay) and MV2 (school end).

Store Room

The nets and flags are now kept in the store room of the Community Hall. The store room is located upstairs (door to the right of the stairway as you go up the stairs).

Net Bags

Each net (and tie rope) has been placed in a blue plastic bag (4 bags in total). The bags are marked MV1 or MV2 as appropriate.

Putting up the nets
The club will provide a set of steps (or similar aid) for use in putting up the nets. Please do not use the Community Hall chairs. However, there is a chair in the store room which has paint on it - that chair may be used as a temporary measure. Remember that the net with the red toggle should go on the goalpost with the red receptor and the net with the black toggle should go on the goalpost with the black receptor.

Taking down the nets
Nets should be separated from their tie ropes when being stored. The team that puts up the nets should ensure that the bags are returned to the store room for the last team to put the nets away. Do NOT put the bags in with the team kit or similar place and forget about them! Also remember to put away the chair/steps as well.

Useful Tools
Teams should bring their own hammer for securing the nets and a small shovel for removing any dog faeces from the pitch.

Arrangements for Sunday matches
The Community Hall will be opened and closed by the Community Hall staff. The hall will normally be open from 09.00 to 13.30 each Sunday. A key to the store room is available from Jimmy & Jacqui Farrell 26 Mourne Park.

Use of toilets
Please note that the upstairs Community Hall toilets may be used. The downstairs toilets are allocated for use by the children attending the play school (Mon to Fri) and we have been asked not to use these toilets.

Dressing Rooms
There are plans to extend the Community Hall to provide new dressing room facilities. It is expected that these facilities will not be available until season 2008/09.
